Michael Battersby is the Worship and creative ministries Director at Metrochurch in Perth Western Australia where he and his wife, Linda, serve with pastors Geoff and Rhonda Woodward as Associate pastors.

Michael has had 22 years experience in the entertainment industry as a professional performer and has worked with renowned artists Michael Bolton, Natalie Cole, Tina Arena, James Morrison, Don Mclean, Dizzy Gillespie.

After graduating from the Academy of Performing arts with honours and receiving distinctions from Bible College studies, Michael has coupled together his 2 passions – Music and The Church!!

Towards this end Michael has lead city-wide Worship events with 15 000 people in attendance, Hosted the Hillsong Conference Creative Directors Faculty, served as Conference director at Worship Summit and Just Worship events where thousands of worship leaders and musicians are trained and equipped.

Guests that Michael has worked with at these events have included Andrae Crouch, Phil Driscoll, Alvin Slaughter, Darlene Zschech, Brian Houston, Phil Pringle, Kong Hee, Reuben Morgan, Henry Seeley (Planet Shakers) and Parachute band to name a few.

Michael leads a team of dedicated musicians and singers (@100) and has produced 14 Original Praise and Worship albums and 3 Jazz Albums. (Featuring some of Australia’s top Jazz performers including James Morrison)

One of his primary goals is to see world class music and worship developed within the church and used for Gods glory. He is currently completing a Masters degree in Education so that intensive training can take place.

On a performance level – Michael Sings and plays piano (Basically a cross between Harry Connick Jnr, Michael Buble and Billy Joel!)
